About my work

Everything acts as inspiration for my designs; flowers, plants, cats, chickens. It is for this reason that I often work from home. It was while I attended Middlesex University that I learnt to develop a language of my own - a way of working using a variety of utensils (such as pencils, sticks, pens, and brushes) to create a myriad of different patterns and marks.

After I left university I worked for large fabric and wallpaper companies that could print in a spectrum of colours, which I loved. My work then moved towards 'one off' screenprints and large linos, wrapping paper, cards and ceramics. I love the mixture of surface patterns that these methods produce, and I've used them for a variety of projects, from mugs to carpets!

Printing is a very satisfying process - and whether lino or screen printing, you can never be sure what you will get until the final colour goes down!
